IIBF offers four different classes of membership i.e., ordinary membership, associate membership, fellow member and institutional. Let’s understand each IIBF membership:
Ordinary Membership: This membership is available to employees working in recognized banking / financial institutions across India, including both public and private sector banks as well as the Reserve Bank of India.
Associate Membership: This membership serves as a step toward securing Fellow Membership of IIBF. To qualify for the associate membership, the applicant must mandatorily have passed the CAIIB Examination and be the institute’s life member. Also, they must have held Associate Membership for at least two years, currently occupy a position equivalent to Deputy General Manager or higher in a public sector bank or financial institution and submit an application approved by the CMD or Chief Executive of their organization.
Fellow Membership: To be eligible for Fellow Membership, a candidate must have successfully completed the CAIIB Examination and be a life member of the Institute. They should have served as an Associate Member for a minimum of two years and currently hold a role equivalent to Deputy General Manager or above in a public sector bank or financial institution. The application must also be approved by the CMD or Chief Executive of the respective organization.
Institutional Membership: The selection of Institutional Members is governed by Article 8A or the Articles of Association. Institutional Members include banking entities from both the public and private sectors, such as the Reserve Bank of India, State Bank of India, other central and state-level financial institutions, co-operative banks and any other organizations approved by the Council.
